We are thrilled to share that Yo (Love Is a Rebellious Bird) has been featured in WBUR ahead of our Boston-area screening this weekend!
Christopher Rutherford penned a wonderful piece highlighting the newly reimagined Finding Bright Film Festival (formerly the Arlington International Film Festival) and its mission to champion experimental cinema and "Make Boston Weirder." We are deeply honored that they chose to highlight our film alongside the festival's exciting new direction.
Anna and I spent over a decade crafting Yolanda's story, weaving together 1/3-scale miniatures, puppetry, and even insect reenactments. As I mentioned in the interview, I have never worked on a project that engaged so many different disciplines of our artistic practices. It has been a true labor of love, and we cannot wait to share this multi-layered documentary with a local audience.
If you are in the area, we would love to see you there:
